Growing up as the oldest of four taught me early on what it means to lead, to listen, and to care deeply for others. In many ways, my journey toward working with children and families began long before I ever realized it — in the daily chaos of sibling and cousin dynamics, in the small lessons about patience and empathy, and in the quiet moments of learning how to support those I loved most.

Coming from a family that experienced divorce, I saw firsthand how family transitions can shape a child’s world. It gave me an understanding of the complex emotions children and young adults face and the importance of having stable, supportive relationships during times of change. That experience sparked my passion for helping families navigate challenges with compassion and resilience.

In the wake of loss, I experienced firsthand the resiliency of children and families. As I navigated life without my son’s father, life flipped upside down. My family’s ability to demonstrate empathy, love, and support allowed me to heal and increase self-awareness. Through the healing process and re-marriage, I’ve learned how life can bring challenges and families can work together to support children and young adults’ sense of security, love, and belonging.

Over the years, I’ve honed skills in conflict resolution and mediation, learning that healthy communication and understanding can transform relationships. Whether it’s helping parents find common ground or supporting a child in expressing their thoughts/feelings/needs, I’ve seen how connection and empathy can heal and strengthen families.

Ultimately, my decision to work with children and families comes from a deep belief that every child deserves to grow up feeling heard, supported, and valued — and that every parent deserves tools and understanding to nurture their child’s potential. Supporting families through that process feels less like a career choice and more like a calling that’s been part of my story all along.
